“All Praises be to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords He is Wonderful”… this is the song that rested on my heart this morning so I couldn’t help but to believe there is a need to write about how Wonderful God is today!
Last night I began feeling convicted about a couple of appointments that I missed. The appointments were important to me but I forgot about one of them so entirely that it didn’t come to my remembrance until the next day. Now I’m a thinker, so I knew this thing was about to bother me all night. I was getting into my thoughts saying, “what is on my mind that I could be so forgetful?”. I decided to get out of my bed and go to my prayer area to pray. I began to let God know all the things that were bothering me and all of my thoughts because he said in his Word that He would bear my burdens (Psalm 68:19 NIV). . As I prayed and I vented to the Lord and I let him know everything that was bothering me. I began to feel peace. Afterwards I moved beyond myself and began to pray for others, even those who I could consider my enemies. I began to feel a burden lifted. For years I’ve been hearing preachers say leave your problems at the altar and I was one of the ones who picked them back up. Last night, I left those problems at the altar; I gave them to Jesus and I received such piece that I woke up this morning just singing to God about how wonderful He is. He has given me peace. The peace of God is an Awesome Wonder. Now I know this may sound simple but for those of you who get hung up on worrying about any and everything can relate. You know when God gives you peace it’s better than winning the lottery. Thank you Jesus
The definition of wonder is, “a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable ” (oxford dictionary). The fact that God is concerned about every big and small detail of our life speaks to how wonderful he is. He is so invested in us that he even let us know that our very existence is Wonderful.
Psalms 139: 14
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”
God cares about you and I. God desires for us to come to Him with everything …let me emphasize…. EVERTTHING! The more I am trusting God and leaning on his Word, the more I am seeing a change in myself and my life. Many of us feel like we’re supposed to be a one-man army but that is not what God intended for us to be… At least not without him!! God is God and he can change any situation he chooses. He can change hearts, move things out of the way or place things in the way for our protection. God will strengthen us when we are weak and teach us to be humble. I remember when my mother went home to be with the Lord and I was at the hospital watching her inside of that white bag partially covered up by sheets and I began to sing her favorite song, ‘I Won’t Complain’. Only God could give me the strength to sing a song as my mother’s spirit had already departed. At her funeral my nephew danced and then I danced and I felt the presence of God as I was dancing. Only a wonderful God can give me the strength to dance as my mother lay in her coffin. My mom taught me to trust God in all things; she led by example. To God be the glory that he placed her in my life to set the foundation for me to follow Him and of course I am setting the foundation for my son and so forth. What a wonderful God we serve.
God has been highlighting all the powerful God-fearing people that I have encountered in my life and letting me know it wasn’t an accident. He’s been showing me all of my hardships and letting me know that it’ll be used for my good. I marvel at how wonderful God is. Isaiah 9:6 reads, ” For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is Given; and the government will be upon his shoulders. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
The Devil wants us to be so boggled down by our problems, and the problems of the world that we lose site of our Wonderful God and the fact that He wonderfully and purposely created us! I don’t know what your situation may be. You can consider it small or devastating, but you need to know this one thing…God is here for you. He is not concerned with any special format in order for you to approach Him, God just wants you to Come, He says “28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”(Matthew 11:28). There is so much I can say about how wonderful God is. This post wouldn’t end. You are a Wonderful Creation made by a Wonderful God and He wants you to live a Wonderful Life. Embrace that truth. Remember this during your good times and your hard times. God Loves you exactly how you are, where your are in life….with all of your perfections and imperfections. We serve a Wonderful God.
